Linux 3.16.1 Now Available
The latest upstream stable kernel version is now available for Evolve OS. Users who have previously installed the NVIDIA binary drivers manually should note they now also need to add ’nomodeset’ to their boot line to stop nouveau loading, and they should rebuild the module to sync with the new kernel version.

Bodacious Budgie (v7) Released!
Well, its that time again. We’re pleased to announce v7 of Budgie Desktop, aka Bodacious Budgie! The name was chosen entirely at random in an even more random <a href=“https://plus.google.com/+IkeyDoherty/posts/MdmCnY7dCqs"Google+ post. Long story short we made it more sexy, a bit more stable, whacked in a tray and a notifications applet, as well as a working sound menu.

Budgie Desktop v6 Released
I am pleased to announce the release of Budgie Desktop version 6. This release sees several fixes in the panel and menu components, as well as the introduction of a brand new Panel Editor, as well as customisable layouts and GNOME Panel theme integration.

Alpha 3 Released
I am pleased to announce the release of Evolve OS Alpha 3. This image is only suitable for 64-bit machines, and is not yet EFI capable. This release incorporates all recent updates, including X.Org 1.16.0, MesaLib 10.2.4, Linux Kernel 3.15.6, Firefox 31.0 and the GNOME 3.12 stack.

Linux kernel 3.15.6 now available
Users of Evolve OS may now update their installations to the latest stable upstream version of the Linux kernel, 3.15.6 Simply issue the following command to upgrade to the latest upstream version (please reboot once this is done!)

X.Org 1.16.0 Update

Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.394 in repos
You may now install the x86_64 version of Flash For Linux on Evolve OS by issuing the following command: sudo pisi ur && sudo pisi it flash-player-nonfree Remember that this version of Flash is only updated for security issues by Adobe, and is the only way to currently use Flash in Firefox due to a lack of PPAPI support. Also note that by installing the plugin, you agree to the licensing conditions set by Adobe at http://www.adobe.com/legal/licenses-terms.html .
