Re: In full sail

Hypothetically, The CEO of the company avoids the office for 3 months. His CFO, CTO and rest of the management team go to work every day without knowing why the CEO is absent. Since there's no board of directors, the CEO can do what he/she desires without risk of being fired. Since the CEO has assem...

Re: In full sail

Kudos to the team members for a respectable level of tact and professionalism, yet giving ample time without the need for passing judgment or accusations. You treated a friend with respect. We hope that you eventually receive that retribution in return. As a community, we hope that Ikey is well and ...

Re: [Bug] Bizarre Heat/Fan Issues with Solus

Yes, there's a bug in the newly patched kernels, which affects power management. I've noticed it specifically in Intel onboard hardware. High core CPU and fan after very recent kernel updates. You can use grub-customizer, or manually adjust your grub. The following worked for me on a variety of OS d...

Re: Solved: Sceptre/Meltdown + Intel Skylake CPU

Solved.

Pcie errors in systemd-journal and journalctl.

Looks like a hardware conflict with power management in the newly patched kernel.

Simply added the following to the kernel parameter line, and updated grub.

Code: Select all

pcie_aspm=off

Re: Sceptre/Meltdown + Intel Skylake CPU

Right, every kernel available in the software center = patched & installed as an update = bricked Solus. The very same results also with Antergos, Manjaro, Ubuntu. Systemd-journald consumes at least one cpu core mostly 100%. The journal log just continue endlessly with repetitive text. As a test, I'...

Solved: Sceptre/Meltdown + Intel Skylake CPU

Guys, Was running Solus just fine, until the most recent 4.15 kernel update. After recently upgrading linux-current, my system CPU pegs high with cpu whine. A hard shutdown is required because of an endless software shutdown of a wall of endless running text. This also occurs in the linux-lts kernel...

Recent kernel update = pinned CPU, high temps & fan on

Hi guys, Has anybody else noticed CPU maxed after installing the latest batch of updates? I was running fine & well until rebooting after those updates. Upon reboot, my cpu is pinned by the process systemd-journald. Journalctl now showing running text of pcie bus errors. This now occurs on linux-cur...

Re: cifs-utils unmount issue - causing shutdown stall

SOLVED : There's a long standing CIFS bug, where the network manager is shutting down prior to samba in the shutdown/reboot process. Simply open network manager settings & choose your wifi connection to edit. In the "general" tab, place a check mark in "All users may connect to this network". Reboo...

Waterfox & pin to panel

https://www.waterfoxproject.org/en-US/ Waterfox is an actively developed alternative based on Firefox that supports new web API's and will also have it's own managed archive of classic add-ons. By default, it is set to automatically update. Waterfox's site offers https, so my assumption that update...
