Re: Update broken

Human persistence vs. the OS persistence re: updates or rdb. Indeed. Playing Call of Cthulhu on the one screen, 'sudo eopkg it lyx', manual retry no 73, on the other screen. "Enter the Madness" ... perfect match. Unfortunately it is not an occasional problem, but makes Solus basically unu...

Re: Clean Solus up

Great question and replies. Have always wondered the best way myself.
My cache was fat with crap, too. No orphans though.

Re: Update broken

None of this unusual as of late, but it is something. Human persistence vs. the OS persistence re: updates or rdb. It works. Persistence..score one for us humans. Novel, eh? Reading every post on this thread, it's evident this is connection probs. ON BOTH ENDS. Your service and theirs and mine somet...

Re: In full sail

Hypothetically, The CEO of the company avoids the office for 3 months. His CFO, CTO and rest of the management team go to work every day without knowing why the CEO is absent. Since there's no board of directors, the CEO can do what he/she desires without risk of being fired. Since the CEO has asse...

Re: [Solved] Impossible to Update via Terminal - "HTTPS Error 503"

I never have resorted to migrating. Have shaken off ERNO 14 errors by stubbornly re-trying. Connection on my end is spotty anyways, and this seems to work. All to say more than 1 way to skin a cat.

Re: Using DD to clone a Solus Drive in Solus Live/Tips wanted

I always opt for clean installs. In most cases, you need only the /home, maybe /etc, if you are tech savvy and have done some custom stuff. If you have databases you will need take those from /var. My approach - install clean, keep the old disk connected and over the first weeks of usage, you usual...

Re: Contributopia

Another world is possible.... https://contributopia.org/en/ Wow, this is some hardcore hippie FOSS. I'm digging it. I know I don't speak today's lingo, but that's a compliment. I read everything that I could (doesn't all translate to eng yet, even when toggled and chosen). After all the doom and gl...

Re: Is There a Reason Solus doesn't want my Money?

This is fascinating. It's like a riddle or a Cold War spy game. How do you pay someone in the most indirect way possible? Cash is so 20th century. It's yucky. Millions of people touch it with their bare unwashed public bathroom hands, sit down and sweat on it for years for goodness sake. Egregious....

Re: (VOLUME) I Came to Praise Solus

No ideas, just want to thank you for yours. I reckon between job and pleasure that approximately 35-40% of embedded steaming media content (educational, documentary, movie preview, news, rock and roll music, *-tube) content creators really suck in the volume department. Inadequate. Yeah, that's a b...
