Re: My trackpad doesn't work

I remember that when I first installed Solus on an Acer Travelmate B117 . . . the trackpad "seemed" to be completely unresponsive. But the mouse worked fine. So I found the shortcut or hotkey combo that toggles the trackpad (so F1, F7 or F8 are common - but check your systems user manual pdf). But, ...

Re: After installing Solus 3, can't boot into hard drive

Couple things: a screenshot of the install drive using "gparted" would be helpful. We can see if you have an efi partition for starts. Additionally, I know the "Etcher" program does a default setup of the usb flash-drive for uefi or bios installs. Finally, are you aware of what the hotkey is to invo...

Re: Can't type after waking the system up

Can you run in LIVE mode? First thing is to recover any needful data/files.

Also - did you change any settings related to "Power"? Do you have an adequate swap file or swap partition?

Prep yourself for . . . . RE_INSTALL . . . .

Re: Cannot determine boot device

It would help to know more about your system setup. Are you dual-booting with Windows or Other Linux distro(s)? A screenshot of a gparted disk partition scheme might be helpful. But the very first thing I would do is to use the Live usb-stick (of Solus or Parted-Magic iso) to copy your essential dat...

Re: Recommendations for WiFi PC-E card with AC capability.

The line of products from Panda Wireless are excellent, and stable for 24/7/365 usage. Have used for nearly 5 years on multiple systems. All are P&P with Ubuntu and most other Linux distros (including Solus, Elementary, Arch/Manjaro).

Re: Can't type after waking the system up

On my Acer Travelmate, I just press the space bar once or twice, but it may take 2, 3, or 4 seconds before the password login screen pops up. So, just wait till the count of 4 or 5 before you do anything else. Also, you do have some customizations available in the Power Settings config.

Re: ASUS Laptop, No Sounds, what's step one?

I would suggest that if previewing Solus in Live Mode has no sound issues - - drop to a terminal window (ctrl+alt+t) and run Alsamixer again. This time, note the settings carefully and jot down the values. It's been YEARS since I've had sound issues in Linux, but I recall if you see "MM" for a chann...

Yes it will - - if you are installing Solus using the Legacy Bios/Mbr mode and not UEFI.

Re: USB 2.0 issue and squestion about scrolling

A couple of suggestions that may help: > a usb 3 "hub" would allow for multiple devices to be plugged in (including usb2 devices) > sometimes the bios or uefi settings have options for usb connectivity . . suggest you look for that > to verify, this is not a hardware issue - - you can plug in a usbv...
