Lost X keyboard since last week update

Tue Mar 27, 2018 10:29 pm

Hi,

I cannot type anything in the login windows in lightdm since last week after a big update.
I found out that I can connect by ssh and stop lightdm. Then I can connect with a console. Otherwise the keyboard is totally irresponsive.
I can work in a console. I have reinstalled budgie-desktop and lightdm with no success for my keyboard.

Any idea on how I could reconfigure X to get my keyboard back ??? :?:

Regards,
BT

The laptop is an HP Pavillion g series with AMD A6-3400M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics.
Everything used to work until last update I did.

Re: Lost X keyboard since last week update

Wed Mar 28, 2018 11:45 pm

I would like to add that I can now use an USB keyboard from my other computer.
So the keyboard seems to work with Xorg (at least the USB).
It might be something else than an Xorg libinput problem.

The laptop keyboard works very well with Ubuntu 18.04 (beta). So I'm a little bit puzzle about what would cause the laptop keyboard not to be used by Xorg.

I updated yesterday (2018-04-14) and my keyboard is back!

I had to use an USB keyboard to be able to do it. But now the laptop keyboard is back : who knows why ???
