Dropbox - autostart issue

Wed Jan 10, 2018 11:06 pm

Does anyone have this issue with dropbox?

Every time I launch dropbox, it automatically becomes a startup application (checked with gnome tweaks) app.

This happens on my both laptops that run solus budgie

Solved it. Seems that it is present in many other distros (guess it's a dropbox issue).

Here is an workaround - access terminal:

Code: Select all

cd ~/.config/autostart/
gedit dropbox.desktop
Change Exec=dropbox start -i
to
Exec=dropbox stop

Then, change the ownership of the file and deny any access to the dropbox.desktop file from the autostart folder in order not to be overriden. Assuming you are in the same location in terminal (.config/autostart):

Code: Select all

chmod 0444 dropbox.desktop
The app will still be displayed in the autostart apps list, but it won't autostart anymore.
