Those videos should be updated if something is changed. For example if installer is changed the video about installing solus should be changed too.
Those videos will help solus to increase it's visibility also will help existing user base and at last will help the vloger to increase his audience
That would be nice but as you truly underline, the content must remain up-to-date and this requires lot of capacity.
For simple tasks, we use static content (Help Center
). There are some contributions from the community but not as much as we'd like. The video tutorials are used for more complex tasks likelearning packaging
Some community members do pretty much what you suggest
, but there is no warranty they will keep their tuto up-to-date or that they won't suddenly stop.
I believe that the most precious thing to solus is his users which may lack of technical knowledge. For those users is important to have somewhere sorted library with most common and simplest task in video format with explanations.
People who want to make advanced stuff like packaging probably have enough skills and can learn just by reading. They don't need to be treated like babies.
About videos that you link, while it is good initiative it is not what I want. It is just random stuff, it is not well structured and it is not most common tasks also I believe that there is no obvious link to them from forum or solus website which make them useless.
Those tutorials must be done by someone who are serious about linux vloging and solus. The structure of the tutorials and content should be decided by dev team. Those tutorials should be part of the website and must be easily accessible
