Stuck on Blinking Cursor

Fri Jan 11, 2019 6:13 am

Hello

I'm trying to install Solus, but I'm having trouble. When I try to boot the live usb, I get a screen with a bunch of text that looks like this image (not my image), with the exception of multiple instance of "Failed to start network name resolution service". That's the only thing that fails though, and it's followed by a whole bunch of the green "OK"s. Then I see a screen that says "Solus Login" for a really short amount of time, before I get a blank screen with a blinking cursor at the top-left. I have no idea what's going on. I'd appreciate any help.

Specs:
  • AMD Ryzen 7 2700X CPU
  • NVIDIA RTX 2080 Graphics Card
  • Asus Prime X470 Pro Motherboard
  • 32 (2 x 16) GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4-3000 Ram
  • Crucial 250GB M.2 NVME SSD
  • Toshiba 3TB HDD (this and the drive above have windows installed using amd's storemi tiered drive tech
  • Crucial 500GB SATA SSD (this is the drive I'm trying to install Linux on. Currently formatted as NTFS)
  • (I've got a 16GB DataTraveler 100 G3, idk how relevant this is)
Things I've tried
  • Created a MBR Bootable USB with Rufus on ISO mode
  • Created a EFI Bootable USB with Rufus on ISO mode
  • Created a MBR Bootable USB with Rufus on DDmode
  • Created a EFI Bootable USB with Rufus on DD mode
  • Create a Bootable USB with Etcher
Sorry if this is a bunch of irrelevant information, I wanted to supply as much of a picture of my system as I could. If there's any other info I can give you to help diagnose this, let me know.
