TaskBar Preview?

Sun Nov 12, 2017 11:23 am

Will Budgie Desktop ever have taskBar preview thumbnails when you move and hover your mouse across the taskbar?

Thanks

Without preview then Budgie is of no use as it's a show stopper for people that use multiple firefox windows to categorize webpage stock charts , tools and finance video news so each window can be previewed instantly without leaving the current chart when markets move.

You can do it in Windows and other linux desktops like Cinnamon

It's ok when you have multiple monitors setup but a real pain on a single panel that you have to keep changing tabs or windows as it's sods law that you close a one by mistake.

Sliding your mouse across each taskbar window it never happens

If you want, you can introduce a feature request on the Budgie-desktop tracker (first make sure a similar request has not been introduced already).

No need as the developers are active on the forum.

Entirely up to them if they want Budgie to be of any use to World Wide traders and the advertisement it brings of a $4 trillion per day Market?

If they are not bothered to enter a thread by the Topic and reply when they are active then they are not bothered about the feature being added.

Of course it is needed. A forum is a discussion area, not a bug tracker. There is no follow up here !
I don't know how you came to the conclusion that Budgie developers are active on this forum. Although leaded by Solus, Budgie is a cross-distribution desktop environment that has been adopted by many distributions and many contributors aren't involved at all in Solus.

So it's up to you to decide if you want to have a friendly discussion with community members like people sitting around a table and having a beer together or if you want to contribute to the community and submit your idea to the project.

Threads get lost, issues on the bug tracker do not, if you want the feature please place an issue on GitHub, otherwise it'll likely get lost and forgotten.

I've been gracious enough to inform you of a massive market your missing out on and the reason why so It's now up to you and Ikey Doherty to discuss if you want this feature added or not.

Makes no difference to me if Traders continue to donate money to other desktops such as Cinnamon or Gnome that have a preview function if you can't be arsed to add a reminder to Github for your own decisions.

@wekeduck

If you install Solus GNOME you can use the latest dash-to-panel as it now has an UnGroup option to give you a classic taskbar with a separate icons for each open Firefox window with a really nice preview window when you run your mouse across the task bar.
