Solus 3 Budgie doesn't scale on 14" FullHD display

Fri Feb 02, 2018 2:48 am

New to this place, and love Solus, on all my devices except my IdeaPad, where everything looks way too small.

The laptop has a FullHD 14" screen, and has NVIDIA GeForce 920M graphics card installed.

I've come to understand that scaling doesn't work well on Budgie 10.4. I tried to use gsettings to set the Gnome scaling factor of 2 (or anything), but it doesn't work. Nothing happens when I enter the following command:

Code: Select all

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface scaling-factor 2

I'm uncomfortable working with xrandr (I've not quite understood Linux enough to deal with that).

I do not get 1366x768 as one of the available resolutions to set (I'm fine with 1366x768; I have a 14" screen).

Please help me with this situation.

Here's relevant information from lspci

Code: Select all

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Skylake GT2 [HD Graphics 520] (rev 07)
01:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK208BM [GeForce 920M] (rev a1)
Thank you!
