Problem with nVidia card [Solved]

Fri Mar 02, 2018 4:39 pm

Hi

I was running Solus without problem, but I have changed my graphics card and now Solus doesn't start and I can't access "CTRL + ALT + F1" because appears a "loop" text saying that there is a problem with nVidia Driver.

What can I do?

Regards

I am not good with hardware problems, but if nobody else have better suggestions here is what I'd try :

1/ Put back your old graphic card, boot solus and uninstall the nvidia driver, then put back the new one and try to boot

2/ Do a boot rescue, then uninstall the nvidia driver.

I guess there are other (easier) options but this is all I can think of now...

When booting hit E at Grub boot

Edit the line behind quiet Splash entry. Example: Quiet then type this leave a space nouveau.modeset=0 and then Hit F10. Once loaded go in and install Additional Hardware Drivers and then restart the computer and then all hopefully will be fine! :)

As well if it shows old drivers uninstall them. :)

I got it!

With the nouveau.modeset=0 I was able to enter in text mode, unistall the nVidia Glx Driver and install it again.

Thanks for your help.
